FV-EPC

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COMMITTEE

THANK YOU, 2025 EPC MEMBERS…
YOU DID GOOD!

Volume 17 - November/December 2025

All of the many EPC committees served this community well in this 2025 year and accomplished much to build a stronger, more resilient Friendly Valley community. The January 2025 California FIRESTORMS clearly demonstrated the fact that we live in a very high risk area for wildfire and earthquake disasters.

OUR FRIENDLY VALLEY RESIDENTS MUST HAVE DISASTER KNOWLEDGE
AND MUST BE DISASTER READY.

This EPC group takes our guidance from the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA), the California Office of Emergency Services (CAL OES) and our Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD).

LACFD has certified 21 of our residents in their Community Emergency Response Team program (CERT).

This year, the EPC group presented large community programs on Home Fire Prevention, Emergency First Aid, Automobile Emergency Preparation, Walkie Talkie Communication Skills, Disaster Evaluation Teams and even Pet Preparation in the event of a mandated emergency evacuation to a public shelter.

Fifty stocked “Go-Bags” were gifted by guest speaker Michael Martinez from DDAR.

A professional “Pet Go-Bag” was provided by Chewy.com, a fire extinguisher/carbon monoxide detector and many other disaster supplies were raffled at various meetings.

In 2026, EPC will focus on expanding our individual association teams (FV-NEPT) and EPC’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Please come join our monthly meetings.

“Happy New Year” from your EPC Leadership Team and EPC mascot “Ready Rosie”
